The minimum qualification required to enrol in a doctoral-level programme is a Master's or equivalent. The minimum number of ECTS required is 240, of which 60 ECTS must be obtained within a Master's study programme.
The application calendar depends on the institution. Generally speaking the period of submission of applications is from February to May and entry exams / interviews are held in June.
Proficiency in the local language is not required. It is possible for international students to pursue doctoral studies in English.
Certain doctoral study programmes are accredited in English or in other foreign languages. Foreign students may also study in English even when programmes are accredited only in Czech depending on individual universities.
